Federal election 22: Climate change and environment debated in our online roundtable

Climate change has been a key election issue. Now, an expert panel hosted by Joe Hildebrand will discuss some of the key issues regarding the environment. Join our online debate.

Every federal poll since 2007 has been described as “the climate change election” but with the apparent increase in extreme weather events, the appearance of Climate 200-backed independents, and key differences between the major parties on how fast we should reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, environmental issues seem to be in focus like never before.

In years gone by, environmental debates centered on issues like saving the wilderness, but now, the environment is a factor in our most of our day-to-day activities – everything from how we power our homes, to the sorts of cars we drive and the food we eat.

Hosted by Joe Hildebrand, join Climate Council CEO Amanda McKenzie, Electric Vehicle Council CEO Behyad Jafari and Daniel Wild, Director of Research at the Institute of Public Affairs, as they discuss some of the key issues regarding climate, energy, emissions and environment at this election.

Watch the debate in the video player above on Thursday May 19 at 7pm AEST. Want to have your say? Make sure you are a logged in subscriber so you can participate in the LIVE audience Q&A below (visible only when logged in).
