Kelly Clarkson’s Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock Buys $1.8 Million Montana Home

Brandon Blackstock made a big move. The talent manager recently acquired a Montana mansion after moving out of his ex-wife Kelly Clarkson’s ranch.

The 45-year-old purchased a $1.8 million property in Butte, Montana, according to a deed transfer obtained by Us Weekly Thursday.

Based on the document, Blackstock already planned the move months ago since the deed transfer was dated April 18.

It’s not clear how much Blackstock paid to buy the house, which had a $1.8 million listing price. But the timing of the purchase was just right since earlier this month, he left the ranch he and Clarkson used to share.

As previously reported, Blackstock had no other option but to exit the estate because Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon ruled in March that he could only stay at the ranch until June 1.

The Montana ranch had been a major point of contention throughout the divorce proceedings involving the exes that started in June 2020.

The “American Idol” winner wanted to sell the property due to the “financial burden” that came with its maintenance. On the other hand, Blackstock had been eager to keep it as part of his new career as a full-time rancher.

Clarkson tried selling the estate in August 2021 but got denied because Blackstock was living on the property at the time. She attempted to have him evicted later that year after being granted ownership of most of their previously shared assets, including the ranch.

After Gordon gave his ruling, Blackstock wanted to find a way to fight it. However, he was “ultimately talked out of it,” according to an unnamed Us Weekly source.

Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage with Blackstock, citing irreconcilable differences. The exes reached a final divorce settlement in March.

Aside from leaving the Montana ranch, Blackstock, who is in the process of retiring from the entertainment industry, renamed his cattle ranching business from Vintage Valley Ranch to V Bar V Cattle.

The “Kelly Clarkson Show” host has primary custody over their two kids, 8-year-old daughter River and 6-year-old son Remy. She pays her her ex her $45,601 in monthly child support and $115,000 in monthly spousal support as part of their settlement.
