Perth weather: City temperatures to heat up before cold front bring cooler change

Perth’s “turn it off and on again”’ weather is back.

The city will continue to enjoy its spell of school holiday sunshine and towards the end of the week even hot days. But make the most of it while it lasts, before the temperature plummets by up to 10C.

It’s been a warm start to the school holidays with temperatures hovering around the mid-20s, before the temperature is forecast to ramp up to 29C for Thursday and Friday.

“Perth is a very ‘flick the switch’ kind of place when it comes to weather,” Bureau of Meteorology Duty Forecaster Jessica Lingard said.

“I don’t think anyone that has been to the Royal Show has complained about the weather.

“The temperature seems pretty warm compared to the September average but as we move into October, it’s pretty normal.”

But a cold front is set to move in early next week, and while it won’t bring much rain — a max of 2 millimeters is expected — temperatures will drop to around 20C.

But Ms Lingard is optimistic it’s the last Perth will see of the cooler weather for a while!
